Home theaters can come with a lot of equipment. While necessary, all of that equipment can turn your nice home theater into an eyesore. If you want to clean up your setup by putting everything in a closet, your remote control won’t work anymore. That’s because remote controls work by using infrared (IR) signals, which can only work through line of sight.
The Solution
That’s why you need an IR extender, like the BlastIR Wall Plate Kit. This kit will provide all the parts you need to extend your IR signal to wherever you are hiding all of your equipment. That way you get the clean, professional look you want, but you are still able to use all of your remotes to control your home theater experience. After installation all that you see is a small wall plate.
How it Works
- Connect the IR receiver wall plate BlastIR Classic using cat5e/6 cable.
- Connect the IR emitter cables to the BlastIR Classic.
- Attach the IR emitter heads to the IR "eye" of the devices you are trying to control.
This kit comes with two dual-head emitters, but the BlastIR connecting Block can support up to 6 emitter cables to control even more devices.

- This product is NOT compatible with the following models of the AT&T U-verse cable box:
- Cisco Explorer 4642HDC, IPN 4320, IPN 330HD and the Motorola VIP series. There are other models of the U-verse that are also likely incompatible with the BlastIR.
